Our lives on wheels

About the project:
As a vagabond I feel very drawn to my fellow vanlifer’s decisions and their outcomes. What moved them to swap their house for a home on wheels? What does the mundane look like when you live your life in the smallest self-built camper? In a vintage van? A brand new touring car? What do people do to make their house on wheels feel like a home?

Specs & status:
On and off I have been working on this concept throughout 2025 – however, some seeds have probably been planted earlier – and I will start approaching fellow vanlifers to capture their nomadic homes starting 2026.

From there on this will be an ongoing project with the following deliverables:
– digital series of still images and written text
– short videos with surrounded sounds and spoken words
– publications in my monthly self-published leporellos and mini-zines
– tbd
